You were made for Dominion

You were made for Dominion

Then God said, “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26

Man was made by God to have dominion over all the earth. That still holds true today. Because of man’s sin and rebellion, he has lost the place of ruling over all things and circumstances. But the Lord wants to restore dominion to each one who follows Him. Even in a decadent world.

This is a big part of the Good News of Jesus Christ. To believe on Him and be saved means that you are saved from futility and perishing in your sin. It means you can be victorious over depression, drugs, despair, debt and defeat! To be saved from sin is to be saved to an abundant life with authority, to reigning in life.

My grace is sufficient for you.” (2 Cor. 12:9)

You may be trapped in a nightmare or a habit that will not go away. For this, the Lord has a present answer: “My grace is sufficient for you.” (2 Cor. 12:9) Remember His power to deliver you.  His promise is “Lo, I am with you always.” (Matt. 28:20) This is not a “sometimes” promise. But it is a “perfect peace” (Isa. 26:3) commitment. It is grounded in the fact that He is causing all things to “work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” This thing of “dispeace” will pass.

Here’s how we move on through to the victory of dominion:

1. Pray always, Pray in the Spirit. Pray with understanding. Keep praying, even when visible circumstances look bad. (1Thessalonians 5:16,17)

2. Sing in the Spirit and in understanding,  You can have a song in the night; a song of praise and thanksgiving. Remember the example of Paul and Silas in the jail at Philippi. (Acts 16:25)

3. Rest on the Word, This is what King Hezekiah did when he was attacked by an evil Assyrian conqueror. (2 Chronicles 32:20,21) God gave the victory.

Do not look at the bad odds you face. But look to Jesus. He is growing your faith. You will gain the victory He has promised. He made you, He destined you for victory. His grace makes it possible. So don’t quit. Keep doing what you’re good at doing. You are called according to His purpose.
