Q: What is “JBQ”?
A: It is a fun way to study Bible facts. The facts are dividing among 576 questions and
answers from a Bible Fact-Pak that the children memorize. The questions are divided into
categories worth 10, 20 or 30 points and covers Genesis to Revelation.
Q: What age group is involved in JBQ?
A: JBQ is aimed at all elementary school children, from K4 through 6 th grade.
Q: Will the kids learn the Bible Fact-Pak in class?
A: The facts will be presented in class and explained in teachings times. HOWEVER,
JBQ teams through out North Texas come together 4 or more times a year to compete on
their familiarity with the facts. If your child hopes to compete on a team, it will require
additional study at home.
Q: When are JBQ team practices?
A: JBQ competition teams will be meeting weekly on Sunday mornings 8:30am-9:45am.
Q: What if my child does not want to compete?
A: That’s OK! But there is also an opportunity to receive awards based on their knowledge of the material so it would still be good to have extra study time at home.
Q: How should we study at home?
A: Each week your child will be given a list of questions…these are the “focus questions” for the week and the ones we will go over the next week. At home, go over daily with your child the focus question 10 pointers and as each week progresses, the old questions as well as the new. This can usually be done comfortable with an hour over the week, broken into short 10- or 15-minute segments. If you child wants more of a challenge, add the 20-point questions as well.
Q: Do I need to buy anything extra??
A: At this time, a notebook per quizzer and a Fact-Pak card set per family will be provided. If your child competes, they will need a team shirt (price TBA)
Q: How much parental involvement is involved in JBQ?
A: As much as possible!
